Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with food safety standards
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by ensuring timely meal preparation and delivery
- Handle food safely by following proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
- Contribute to menu planning efforts by suggesting new ideas and ensuring consistency in food presentation
- Assist with catering orders and special event setups to ensure quality and timely service
Skills
- Experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within restaurant or food industry settings
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with menu planning, food service operations, and catering processes
- Good communication skills for serving guests and collaborating with team members
- Previous kitchen experience or culinary training is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
