Job Summary
Golden Chase Studios is looking for a part-time Social Media Videographer & Editor to help film, edit, and prepare content for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, with a strong focus on TikTok performance, account health, and short-form video strategy.
This role supports a creator-led media brand covering my personal creator accounts and my young son’s parent-managed child model/talent accounts. The main platforms are my TikTok, my YouTube, my son’s Instagram, and my son’s TikTok. TikTok is an important focus right now because my account is monetized, but this is not only a TikTok role. I need someone who understands social media content across platforms and can help improve both content quality and platform performance.
I am looking for someone who can help with filming, editing, lighting, audio, iPhone camera settings, angles, captions, pacing, hooks, retention, analytics, and account health. Some work will be in person in Orange County, CA, especially at the beginning, to help set up filming workflows, lighting, microphone/audio, camera angles, and better phone settings. After that, much of the editing work can be remote.
The ideal person can take raw footage and turn it into polished, high-quality, social-media-ready videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. I also need someone who can help identify why certain videos may not be getting pushed, why posts may be stuck at low views, and whether there are issues with content structure, posting strategy, analytics, account health, distribution, or platform performance.
For my son’s accounts, all content is parent-managed and parent-approved. His Instagram and TikTok need to grow in a safe, professional, polished way that supports his child modeling/talent opportunities. Any content involving him must be age-appropriate, privacy-conscious, and handled with excellent judgment.
Duties
- Film short-form social media content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
- Capture lifestyle, talking-head, reaction, behind-the-scenes, product, creator, and parent-approved child model/talent content.
- Edit raw footage into polished, high-quality videos that are ready to post across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.
- Create strong pacing, clean cuts, captions/text, hooks, and structure that support watch time, retention, and engagement.
- Help improve filming quality through better lighting, microphone/audio setup, iPhone camera settings, angles, framing, and overall visual presentation.
- Assist with initial in-person filming setup in Orange County, CA, including camera angles, lighting, microphone placement, tripod setup, and phone settings.
- Repurpose content when appropriate so footage can be used across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
- Review TikTok analytics, account health, and platform performance to help identify why some videos may not be getting pushed or may be stuck at low views.
- Advise on posting strategy, content structure, retention, hooks, captions, and platform-specific performance issues.
- Support safe, parent-approved content planning for my son’s Instagram and TikTok accounts, with a focus on child modeling/talent visibility, age-appropriate content, and professional presentation.
- Keep raw footage and edited content organized so one filming session can become multiple usable videos when possible.
- Stay current on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, short-form video trends, platform changes, and best practices for creator growth.
Skills
- Experience filming and editing short-form social media content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of TikTok performance, account health, analytics, low-view issues, retention, hooks, pacing, and platform strategy.
- Strong video editing skills using CapCut, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Canva, TikTok editing tools, or similar editing software.
- Ability to film clean, high-quality content using an iPhone and/or camera equipment.
- Knowledge of lighting, microphones, audio quality, camera angles, framing, phone settings, and basic content setup.
- Ability to turn raw footage into polished, social-media-ready videos with strong pacing and clear storytelling.
- Understanding of how to create content that feels natural, current, and platform-native rather than overly produced or corporate.
- Experience with creator accounts, personal brands, lifestyle content, talent/modeling content, family content, or child model/actor accounts is a plus.
- Ability to review analytics and explain what may be affecting reach, engagement, watch time, or account performance.
- Good judgment, professionalism, and privacy awareness when working with content involving a minor child.
- Reliable communication, organization, and ability to work independently after direction is given.
- Comfortable with occasional in-person filming/content sessions in Orange County, CA, with much of the editing work done remotely.

- Are you willing to complete a short paid test edit before being hired? I may send a small amount of raw footage with clear instructions to see if you can execute my vision, such as cleaning up the background, improving framing, keeping focus on the subject, improving lighting, and making the final clip TikTok/Reels/Shorts-ready without glitchy or sloppy edits. This test should not exceed 30 minutes unless I approve extra time first. If the edit is completed properly and is usable/social-media-ready, it will be paid at the agreed test rate. If the submission is unrelated to the instructions, unusable, or does not show the skill needed for this role, the applicant will not move forward.
