Position Summary
Join our dynamic production team as a Production Assistant and be at the heart of the Production Department. This energetic entry level role offers a fantastic opportunity and supports continuous uninterrupted operation of the injection molding floor. This role keeps presses running by staging and preparing all components needed for upcoming jobs, relieving operators for scheduled breaks, and maintaining a clean, organized and safe work environment. The Production Assistant is a floating support role focused on eliminating downtime caused by component prep gaps and ensuring operators always have what they need to keep their presses producing quality parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Job & Component Preparation - Stage and set up boxes, totes, and containers for upcoming and active jobs
- Prepare & verify all run components ahead of time - packaging liners, inserts, labels, dividers and secondary materials
- Communicate shortages or missing components to the Shipping Supervisor before they cause downtime
- Press coverage for Operator Breaks, lunches, and brief absences by taking over safe operation of their press
- Follow setup sheets, work instructions and quality requirements for the running job
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe production floor throughout the shift
- Empty scrap, trash, and recycling containers as needed
- Help ensure aisles, exits, and safety equipment remain clear and accessible at all times.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, setup sheets, and work standards.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality — this role directly supports uptime.
- Willingness to learn basic press operation, packing standards, and quality checks.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, team-first attitude.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to [50] lbs and move boxes, totes, and material containers.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, and pull frequently.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery noise, temperature variation, and continuous activity.
Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
