Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Medical Office Manager or Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Medical or Dental billing ability would be a desireable additional skill. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional front desk service with professional phone etiquette and multi-line phone system management
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and conduct insurance verification
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments accurately utilizing MacPractice EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
- Manage medical records, ensure proper filing, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support clinical staff as needed
- Perform office management duties such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining office supplies to ensure a well-organized clinic environment
Skills
- Extensive experience with EMR systems and ability to navigate a new EMR familiarity with hospital or dental clinic environments preferred
- Some knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing procedures
- Proficiency in health information management software
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional appearance, attire and phone etiquette
- Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and process claims efficiently while adhering to HIPAA standards
- Previous experience in medical office management or front desk roles within medical clinics or dental offices is highly desirable
