Anthony’s River Oaks is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead daily operations for our upscale Italian restaurant in River Oaks. The ideal candidate must have strong fine-dining hospitality skills, proven leadership, financial discipline, and the ability to build a high-performing service team.
Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for running the restaurant like an owner. This includes guest experience, staff hiring and training, food and beverage service, reservations, labor control, cost management, cleanliness, sales growth, and overall profitability.
The GM must be hands-on, polished, professional, and present on the floor during peak service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all front-of-house and daily restaurant operations.
- Deliver a high-end guest experience consistent with Anthony’s River Oaks standards.
- Manage reservations, VIP guests, private dining inquiries, and guest recovery.
- Hire, train, schedule, coach, and hold accountable servers, bartenders, hosts, bussers, runners, and managers.
- Maintain strong floor presence during lunch, dinner, weekends, and peak service.
- Monitor service standards, table touches, food timing, cleanliness, uniforms, and hospitality.
- Work closely with the chef/kitchen team to ensure food quality, ticket times, and menu execution.
- Increase sales through wine, cocktails, appetizers, steaks, lobster, desserts, private events, and repeat business.
- Manage labor cost, food cost, liquor cost, overtime, voids, comps, discounts, and daily sales reporting.
- Review Toast POS reports, closeouts, cash handling, deposits, and manager logs.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and protect the restaurant’s reputation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining room, bar, patio, restrooms, host stand, and service areas.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, alcohol service, employment, and company policies.
- Create a culture of accountability, teamwork, hospitality, and excellence.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of restaurant management experience.
- Minimum 3 years as General Manager or Assistant General Manager in upscale dining, steakhouse, Italian restaurant, hotel restaurant, or high-volume full-service restaurant.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent guest service and problem-solving ability.
- Experience hiring, training, and developing service teams.
- Strong understanding of labor cost, food cost, beverage cost, scheduling, and P&L management.
- Wine, cocktail, and bar knowledge preferred.
- Toast POS experience preferred.
- Must be available nights, weekends, holidays, and peak dining hours.
- Must be polished, professional, organized, and hands-on.

Compensation
Competitive salary based on experience, with performance bonus potential.
Estimated range: $65,000 plus per year, based on experience and qualifications.
