Sales Manager (Full-Time)

We are looking for a Sales Manager to drive new business and expand our customer base out of our Lacey, WA branch. If you are a hunter at heart who loves opening new accounts, growing existing customers, and turning opportunities into long-term partnerships, we want to hear from you.
What You Will Do
As Sales Manager, you will own the growth of the branch by winning new accounts and deepening the ones we already have. Here is a look at what your role will include:
- Drive new business by prospecting, pursuing, and winning new accounts across grocery, processor, and food service segments.
- Grow existing accounts and reactivate lapsed customers to expand sales and gross profit.
- Build and execute sales and marketing strategies focused on new account acquisition and account growth.
- Develop customer profiles, prioritize high-potential accounts, and maintain a consistent visit and follow-up cadence.
- Establish and maintain strong customer, vendor, and trade relationships that reflect the GVH name.
- Partner with vendors to shape product mix, open new opportunities, and meet inventory turn objectives.
- Monitor daily, monthly, and year-to-date gross margin to protect and grow profitability on every account.
- Review sales reports, identify new opportunities, and build monthly target and call lists.
- Guide and support the sales team toward shared new-business and growth goals.
- Collaborate with the GVH warehouse on customer fulfillment and needs on a continuous basis. There could be times where the Sales Manager will need to support the warehouse in order to meet customer needs.
What We Are Looking For
- College degree in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting required. A Master's degree, and/or 5+ years of sales management experience in the grocery packaging industry, is preferred.
- Proven track record of opening new accounts and growing existing customers.
- A self-starting, hunter mindset with the persistence to turn prospects into long-term partners.
- Strong financial acumen: able to read financial statements, prepare budgets, understand job profitability, and manage bid pricing.
- Skill in identifying and solving financial, operational, and personnel challenges.
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn company software.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to produce and review business reports.
- Willingness to travel to visit customers, vendors, and branch locations as needed.
Position Details
- Pay: $75,000 to $90,000 annual salary, with bonus incentive opportunities.
- Company car provided for business use, plus a laptop, cell phone, and business cards.
- Eligibility for the annual company-wide profit-sharing program.

- Schedule: Full-time, on-site at our Lacey, WA branch.
