The Field Crew & Warehouse Assistant plays a key role in setting up and breaking down events for Perfect Touch Rental. This hands‑on position focuses on pulling orders, loading trucks, and installing tents, tables, chairs, dance floors, and other rental items on site. You’ll also help keep our warehouse tidy, unload and check equipment back into inventory, and perform basic cleaning and maintenance. This entry‑level role is physically demanding and requires teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail. Starting pay is $17-$20 per hour; applicants who meet any of the criteria listed below (event industry experience, bilingual Spanish/English, post‑secondary education, or a valid driver’s license) are eligible for higher starting pay.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & On‑Site Support
- Work with crew leaders to load, deliver, set up, and break down tents, tables, chairs, dance floors, lighting, and other event rental equipment.
- Assist with staking and setting up tents following safety guidelines and site plans.
- Follow diagrams, layouts, and crew lead instructions to arrange tables, chairs, bars, and lounge furniture as requested.
- Safely use hand tools and basic machinery (dollies, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and lifts) during installation and removal.
- Handle heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs.) and extended periods of standing, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Warehouse Tasks
- Pull rental orders from inventory using pull sheets and load lists; confirm quantities, clean condition, and completeness by documenting every time via video in appropriate company channels.
- Stage, load, and secure equipment on trucks in the proper order for efficient delivery; check items off against the load list.
- Upon return, unload trucks, inspect and document items for damage or missing pieces via video, and return them to the correct warehouse zones.
- Clean and maintain equipment (wiping tables, cleaning tent tops, and cleaning dance floors and chairs) to ensure items are event‑ready.
- Keep the warehouse organized and hazard‑free by sweeping floors, organizing equipment, disposing of trash, and maintaining clear aisles.
Safety & Teamwork
- Follow all safety practices for lifting, rigging, and vehicle operation; wear required personal protective equipment.
- Communicate effectively with crew leads, drivers, and warehouse staff to ensure timelines are met and issues are resolved quickly (reporting solutions in appropriate channels)
- Assist in cross‑training across tents, lighting, linens, and special projects so that crews remain flexible.
- Report any damaged equipment, safety concerns, or inventory shortages to the warehouse manager or field lead.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- Work ethic and reliability – consistently show up on time, ready to work, with appropriate work gear and willing to learn.
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs consistently, work in a team, and remain energetic for long shifts.
- Bilingual Spanish/English, experience in the event industry, a college degree/post‑secondary education, or a valid driver’s license will qualify you for higher pay within the $17-$20 per hour range.
- A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to follow instructions.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends is preferred.
- Familiarity with basic tools and safe material‑handling practices; willingness to learn tenting and event setup methods.
