As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing both clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and room patients (obtain vitals)
- Primary medical assistant to physician
- Retrieve voicemails, assess/triage patient call
- Return calls to patients with appropriate medical recommendations based on physician response/protocols
- Patient education/training related specialty specific diagnostic testing and medications
- Review patient intake forms and document basic medical history in chart
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records
- Arrange diagnostic testing and laboratory services
- Assist during medical examinations
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Perform in-office testing (UDS, phlebotomy)
- Triage patient phone calls
- Manage prescription requests
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Efficient with Windows based applications/software
- Degree in medical assisting preferred but not required if qualified via work history'
