Memphis, TN Area ( Work is onsite, sorry no remote/hybrid options available) , with some occasional travel required.
A leading "East of Memphis" area manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to support automation strategy, process control improvements, and capital projects across multiple production facilities. This role will serve as a technical lead for Emerson DeltaV systems, with responsibility for implementing, optimizing, and supporting DCS platforms that drive safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
Candidates with recent, hands-on DeltaV configuration and implementation experience are highly desired. Additional consideration will be given to individuals with DeltaV Live HMI experience and DeltaV Batch
Key Responsibilities

Lead DeltaV DCS implementation, upgrade, migration, and optimization projects from concept through startup.

Design, configure, and maintain control strategies, graphics, alarms, and operator interfaces.

Support automation-related capital projects, including scope development, execution, commissioning, and lifecycle planning.

Drive process control improvements, alarm management initiatives, and operational efficiency programs.

Provide technical guidance to engineers, contractors, and system integrators.

Support integration of plant control systems with operational data and reporting platforms.

Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, cybersecurity, and engineering standards.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

5-10+ years of process controls and industrial automation experience; 10+ years preferred.

Recent hands-on experience configuring, implementing, and supporting Emerson DeltaV DCS platforms.

Demonstrated experience managing automation and controls-related capital projects.

Strong troubleshooting, project execution, and communication skills.

Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment; this position is not eligible for remote work.
Preferred Qualifications

DeltaV Live HMI configuration, deployment, or migration experience.

Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Experience with batch process automation, system upgrades, and control system modernization initiatives.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate combines strong process control expertise with proven DeltaV implementation experience and a successful track record delivering automation capital projects in a manufacturing environment.
Candidates with recent DeltaV Live experience will receive special consideration.
