The Opportunity
A growing, physician-led outpatient healthcare organization is conducting a confidential search for an accomplished SVP-level healthcare operator to lead enterprise operations across a multi-site, multi-market Florida platform.
This role requires direct senior executive experience operating provider-based healthcare organizations.
The mandate spans enterprise operations, multi-site performance, P&L and financial performance, provider productivity, patient access, senior leadership development, market expansion, and scalable growth.
We are looking for an executive who has already operated at meaningful healthcare scale—and can demonstrate measurable results.
This is not a first-time healthcare leadership opportunity.
Candidates without substantial senior leadership experience in multi-site outpatient, ambulatory, physician-practice, specialty, or comparable provider-based healthcare operations will not be considered.
The Mandate
The Senior Vice President of Operations will serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and be accountable for building a more disciplined, scalable, and consistently performing operating organization.
The mandate is to:
- Lead enterprise operations across multiple locations and markets
- Improve operational and financial performance
- Strengthen accountability across senior, regional, and practice leadership
- Improve patient access, provider utilization, capacity, and workforce productivity
- Standardize operating processes where consistency creates value
- Identify and correct underperforming operations
- Establish enterprise KPIs and operating rhythms that create visibility and accountability
- Support market expansion, new-site development, and service-line growth
- Build leadership, systems, and infrastructure capable of supporting continued scale
- Translate enterprise strategy into measurable operational execution
The objective is not simply to manage a larger operation. It is to build a better-performing one.
What You'll Own
Enterprise & Multi-Site Operations
Own operational performance across the organization's geographically distributed healthcare platform.
- Translate enterprise objectives into operating plans, measurable outcomes, and clear accountability
- Establish consistent operating standards across locations and markets
- Evaluate practice and market performance, identify meaningful variation, and address root causes
- Build a disciplined operating cadence across enterprise, regional, and practice leadership
- Identify operational constraints before they materially affect performance or growth
- Lead corrective action when operations fall below expectations
Financial & Performance Management
Connect operational decisions directly to business performance.
- Own operational KPIs and performance management
- Partner with executive and Finance leadership on P&L and operating performance
- Improve labor productivity, provider utilization, capacity, and operating efficiency
- Identify revenue leakage, underutilized capacity, unnecessary cost, and workflow inefficiency
- Evaluate operational investments against measurable returns
- Build visibility into performance by practice, market, service line, and enterprise
- Strengthen operating leverage as the organization scales
Provider Operations & Patient Access
Build an operating environment that supports both exceptional care and strong provider performance.
- Optimize provider capacity, scheduling, utilization, and operational support
- Improve patient access, scheduling, patient flow, and continuity
- Identify and eliminate operational barriers affecting providers or patients
- Partner effectively with physicians and clinical leadership
- Establish measurable standards for provider-support and patient-facing operations
- Ensure growth does not compromise patient experience or operational quality
Leadership & Organizational Accountability
Lead leaders.
- Lead and develop senior, regional, and practice-level operational leadership
- Establish clear roles, decision rights, performance expectations, and accountability
- Assess leadership capability and address organizational gaps
- Build management effectiveness and succession depth
- Develop leaders capable of solving problems without unnecessary executive escalation
- Create an environment where performance issues are identified early and addressed directly
Success means building an operating organization capable of performing without constant executive intervention or heroics.
Market Development & Expansion
Partner with executive leadership to evaluate and operationalize growth across existing and new markets.
- Assess expansion opportunities through operational, financial, provider-capacity, and market considerations
- Support market-entry strategy, site selection, and expansion planning
- Build operating models for new locations and markets
- Determine leadership, staffing, infrastructure, technology, and capacity requirements
- Establish repeatable launch and stabilization processes
- Ensure new markets achieve defined operational and financial performance expectations
Innovation & Future Growth
Evaluate opportunities to improve how the organization delivers care, operates, and scales.
- Evaluate new operating models, technologies, services, partnerships, and capabilities
- Partner with clinical and executive leadership on new service lines and care-delivery models
- Translate promising concepts into executable operating plans
- Establish success measures, evaluate results, and determine scalability
- Challenge legacy processes when better approaches exist
Innovation should solve a meaningful problem, improve performance, or create enterprise value—not simply add complexity.
Enterprise Strategy
Serve as a strategic operating partner to executive leadership.
- Translate enterprise strategy into operational priorities, investment requirements, and measurable outcomes
- Bring an operating perspective to growth, organizational design, capital allocation, technology, partnerships, and new services
- Evaluate whether the organization has the leadership, workforce, systems, and infrastructure required to execute
- Identify enterprise risks and operational constraints early
- Create cross-functional accountability for strategic initiatives
- Help determine which opportunities should be pursued, redesigned, delayed, or declined
Strategy determines where the organization is going. Operations determines whether it can get there.
What You'll BringRequired Executive Experience
- 12+ years of progressive healthcare operations leadership experience
- 5+ years at the VP, SVP, COO, Regional President, Division President, or comparable senior healthcare executive level
- Direct executive responsibility for multi-site, provider-based healthcare operations

- Leadership responsibility across multiple locations, markets, or regions
- Demonstrated P&L responsibility or direct accountability for significant operating budgets and financial performance
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing senior operational leaders
- Track record of improving operational and financial performance
- Experience improving provider productivity, capacity utilization, patient access, and workforce efficiency
- Demonstrated success improving underperforming locations or business units
- Experience establishing enterprise KPIs and performance-management systems
- Experience standardizing operations across decentralized environments
- Demonstrated success supporting significant organizational growth, transformation, or integration
- Substantial experience partnering with physicians and clinical executives
- Strong financial, analytical, and business acumen
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Ability to travel throughout Florida
Experience within behavioral health, physician practice management, ambulatory care, specialty healthcare, MSO/PPM organizations, or another complex multi-site provider organization is highly desirable.
This Role Is Not Designed For
This is not a first-time VP or healthcare executive opportunity.
Candidates whose leadership experience is primarily in non-healthcare operations, individual practice management, administrative support functions, healthcare technology, insurance, or other environments without direct responsibility for multi-site provider-based healthcare operations are unlikely to meet the requirements of this search.
We are specifically seeking an executive who has already led healthcare operations at meaningful scale.
The Executive We're Looking For
You:
- Operate comfortably at both enterprise and ground level
- Understand the economics of provider-based healthcare
- Diagnose root causes rather than treating symptoms
- Use data to drive decisions and accountability
- Lead leaders—not simply large numbers of individual contributors
- Know how to improve performance without creating unnecessary bureaucracy
- Make difficult decisions when necessary
- Understand when to standardize and when flexibility creates value
- Can partner credibly with physicians, executives, and ownership
- Know the difference between activity and measurable performance
- Can scale an organization without scaling dysfunction
First-Year Priorities
The first year should produce evidence—not activity.
The successful executive will be expected to demonstrate measurable progress in:
- Enterprise operating discipline
- Practice and market performance
- Financial and operational visibility
- Leadership accountability
- Provider productivity and utilization
- Patient access and experience
- Workforce efficiency
- KPI management
- Process standardization
- Cross-functional execution
- Market-expansion readiness
- Scalability of the operating model
The organization should emerge with stronger leaders, clearer accountability, better visibility, more consistent execution, and greater capacity to scale.
The measure of success is measurable improvement in how the business performs.
Location & Travel
This is a Florida-based executive leadership position with regular travel across the organization's operating markets.
