Duties
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement engaging activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies
- Assist with art, music, recreation, and other enrichment activities.
- Support special education students by adapting activities and providing personalized assistance
- Maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to learning and play
- Respond promptly to emergencies with appropriate first aid procedures when necessary
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to support individual student needs and program goals
- Facilitate recreation, art, music , or other extracurricular activities to enrich the program experience.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings such as daycare or camp environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Background in special education or early childhood education enhances your ability to support diverse learners
- Strong communication skills paired with a positive attitude will help foster trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
