Job Summary
We are looking for an intern with ASL linguistics knowledge and a technical background to join our generation team for a 6-month internship. The intern will work on glossing and annotating ASL Classifier (CL) video data to support our English-to-Gloss translation model and avatar signing pipeline.
Key areas of work include annotation schema design, high-level feature labeling, minimal pair analysis, and helping design evaluations (such as A/B testing) for CL outputs. The intern will also design a CL inventory to be added to our dictionary, with a demo at the end of the internship. This is a hands-on role that bridges ASL linguistics and technology. Strong candidates will be native-level ASL signers with interest in sign language technology and comfort with data annotation or analysis tools.
Salary Range: $20-$30/hr DOE

- Native ASL signing skills
- Background in linguistics, CS, data science, or a combination
- Familiarity with ASL classifier systems is a plus.
- Interest in sign language generation technology
- Comfortable with video annotation tools and/or basic data analysis
