Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently to various destinations. This role requires proficiency in operating different types of trucks, including tractor-trailers and flatbeds, while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of trucks, including manual transmission and refrigerated trailers, ensuring safe and timely delivery of freight.
- Load and unload cargo as necessary, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules while considering traffic patterns and road conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs for hours driven and mileage.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding any delays or issues encountered during route driving.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while on the road, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) required.
- Experience driving tractor-trailers or flatbed trucks preferred.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Strong understanding of freight handling procedures and delivery processes.
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS technology effectively.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 75 pounds) as needed during loading and unloading processes.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
