Overview
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Group Sales Associate to join our dynamic team. This role will be responsible for soliciting, contracting, and servicing group business opportunities, primarily small to mid-sized meetings and events, who are booking within a designated time frame. This position plays a key role in maximizing hotel revenue through effective relationship management, proactive sales efforts, and exceptional event coordination from initial conversation to post-event follow-up. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will help us maximize group bookings and enhance overall guest satisfaction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Proactively solicit new group business through prospecting, networking, and relationship building with corporate, association, and SMERF clients.
- Manage all aspects of group meetings, including space allocation, room blocks, catering, and event details to ensure seamless execution and guest satisfaction.
- Prepare and present proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders (BEOs) in alignment with brand standards and revenue goals.
- Collaborate closely with operations, banquet, and culinary teams to ensure client expectations are communicated and delivered effectively.
- Maintain accurate and timely data in the hotel’s sales system, including account activity, trace follow-ups, and event details.
- Conduct site tours and client meetings showcasing hotel features, amenities, and services.
- Participate in weekly revenue and sales meetings, contributing insight on market trends and business opportunities.
- Ensure all events comply with hotel policies, safety standards, and service excellence guidelines.
- Consistently achieve or exceed individual and team sales goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of hotel, catering, or event experience. Full-service hotel preferred.
- Proven ability to close business and manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Strong communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems (Delphi, CI/TY, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
