We’re currently looking for experienced Commercial Construction Journeyman Electricians who are flexible, dependable, and excited to take their skills on the road.
Position Overview:
As a Traveling Commercial Electrician, you will work on various commercial construction sites performing electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs. This position requires frequent travel with overnight or extended stays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in commercial buildings
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and code specifications
- Perform conduit bending, panel terminations, switchgear, lighting, and device installations
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues on-site
- Test systems to ensure safe and proper function
- Work in compliance with NEC, local codes, and company safety protocols
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and hand/power tools
- Collaborate with project teams and maintain clean, accurate job documentation
- Travel for extended assignments (typically 2–3 weeks)
- Maintain a company vehicle and report any service issues
Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyman’s License (state-issued)
- 3+ years of commercial electrical experience
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent hands-on training
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and code compliance
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must supply and maintain personal hand tools
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, or computers to submit job documentation
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work from ladders or scaffolding
- Prolonged standing, kneeling, and bending
- Must be able to identify color-coded wiring
- Willingness to travel long distances by plane and vehicle as needed
- Able to work flexible hours, weekends, or 12-hour shifts as project demands
