In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food, maintaining impeccable kitchen standards, overseeing bus team supporting the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service. Your culinary expertise and attention to detail will help create memorable meals that delight our guests and uphold our commitment to excellence. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your culinary skills in a reasonably-paced, mid-volume environment operating on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays as well as special events on other days of the week.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, including techniques such as braising, grilling, and food production.
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient prep to ensure timely and efficient meal service.
- Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling standards and safety regulations.
- Support high-volume food production by efficiently managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Maintain kitchen organization, including knife skills, equipment cleaning, and stock rotation.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service while ensuring quality control at every step.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
- Strong background in food preparation, including cooking techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food handling.
- Experience working restaurant environments with high-volume production is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures is essential.
- Demonstrated culinary experience with skills in meal preparation, food industry standards, and catering services.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment are required.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
