We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Armed Security Officer to uphold safety and security across our premises. In this role, you will be responsible for protecting personnel, property, and assets through proactive surveillance, access control, and emergency response. Your expertise in security protocols, law enforcement procedures, and conflict management will ensure a secure environment for all. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the facility using surveillance techniques to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards.
- Manage access control systems to verify identities and authorize entry for employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Respond swiftly to incidents, including emergencies or security breaches, following established protocols.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting any security concerns, breaches, or accidents with clarity and accuracy.
- Perform background checks on potential employees or visitors as part of comprehensive security screening processes.
- Operate specialized equipment such as Taser devices, firearms (where legally permitted), AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), and other emergency tools like fire extinguishers.
- Enforce compliance with security regulations and company policies through conflict de-escalation and conflict management techniques.
- Assist law enforcement agencies during investigations or emergencies by providing necessary information and support.
- Conduct thorough patrolling of the premises to ensure physical security measures are intact, including perimeter checks and heavy lifting when required.
- Implement emergency response procedures such as first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety protocols to protect individuals on-site.
Requirements
- Proven experience in security roles, military service, law enforcement or related fields is highly desirable.
- Valid certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, firearm handling, Taser use, and manual handling techniques.
- Strong knowledge of surveillance systems, access control systems, incident report writing, and physical security practices.
- Ability to perform background checks accurately and efficiently when needed.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with staff and visitors.
- Physical fitness to perform patrolling duties including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking periods.
- Demonstrated conflict de-escalation skills coupled with effective conflict management abilities.
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures including fire safety protocols and medical emergencies.
- Commitment to compliance with all security regulations and legal requirements governing armed security operations.
