Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team dedicated to maintaining and repairing electrical systems on vessels and industrial equipment. Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues across various marine systems using schematics, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other precision measuring instruments
- Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of ship electrical systems, including wiring, circuit boards, control panels, and power distribution units
- Use hand tools, power tools, soldering irons, and calipers, and stools to complete repairs or modifications
- Maintain marine equipment by inspecting electrical wiring, lighting systems, navigation aids, and communication devices
- Follow safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during all maintenance activities
- Collaborate with mechanical teams to troubleshoot engineering issues related to electrical and mechanical systems on ships or boats
- Assist in assembly or fabrication of electrical components as needed for system upgrades or repairs
- Support vessel commissioning activities by ensuring all electrical systems meet safety standards and operational specifications
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and diagnostics for compliance and future reference
Experience
- Proven service technician experience in marine or heavy machinery environments with a understanding of ship electrical systems maintenance
- Hands-on experience reading schematics and technical diagrams for complex electrical circuits
- Extensive electrical diagnostics experience combined with mechanical knowledge of marine or vehicle systems
- Familiarity with diesel mechanics and marine equipment maintenance is preferred
- Experience using hand tools such as calipers, power tools, ohmmeters, and multimeters for precise repairs
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols including PPE use
