Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast items according to established recipes, menus, and quality standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, poaching stations, braising pots, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to food safety regulations and sanitizing protocols
- Assist with menu planning and suggest improvements based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout the shift to meet health standards
- Support food production for catering events or special breakfast services with attention to detail and timely execution
- Follow recipe adherence strictly to ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or catering environment, especially with breakfast or brunch menus
- Strong knife skills with the ability to handle various cutting techniques efficiently
- Knowledge of food safety management practices including sanitizing procedures and proper food handling techniques
- Experience operating kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, poaching stations, braising pans, and food processors
- Familiarity with high-volume production processes in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to follow recipes precisely while demonstrating creativity in meal presentation
- Excellent understanding of dietary requirements and menu planning for diverse dietary needs including dietary aide experience or dietary department familiarity is a plus
