Job Overview
We are seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician who is passionate about providing high-quality care to animals. The ideal candidate will have excellent animal handling skills, a strong knowledge of veterinary procedures, willingness to help with receptionist duties as needed, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. This position requires attention to detail, compassion for animals, and the ability to communicate well with pet owners. A positive and upbeat attitude is very important to us. We have a great team dynamic and we all have a lot of fun working together but we are growing.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures
- Perform animal restraint and handling using humane techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Conduct laboratory tests, IV Catheter placement and venipuncture, and prepare samples
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Manage dental procedures by understanding dental terminology, and performing cleanings
- Handle pet grooming, pet care, and animal husbandry tasks to promote overall health and comfort of patients
- Operate diagnostic imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed
- Support pet owners with education on animal physiology, anatomy, pet care, and post-treatment instructions
Requirements
- Experience working as a veterinary technician for at least 2 years in a clinic setting.
- Veterinary Nurse License preferred but not required.
- Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong background in animal handling, restraint, diseases, anesthesia, and care techniques
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices
- Laboratory experience including sample collection, processing, and analysis
- Familiarity with dental terminology, prophylaxis techniques, and procedures related to pet dentistry
- Ability to perform animal catheterization, aseptic techniques, and X-ray imaging
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and educating pet owners
- Maintaining cleanliness of hospital
