Job Summary:
- We are looking for a Quality Inspector with experience inspecting solder connections and conformal coating on printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of inspection experience and a strong understanding of IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 standards. This role involves inspecting electronic assemblies, identifying defects, and ensuring products meet quality and manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visually inspect solder joints and conformal coating on PCB assemblies.
- Inspect both surface mount (SMT) and through-hole components using IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 standards.
- Read and interpret drawings, inspection instructions, work orders, and IPC manuals.
- Use measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and scales during inspections.
- Identify and report quality defects and ensure products meet required specifications.
- Record inspection results and maintain accurate documentation.
- Communicate inspection findings with production and quality teams.
- Follow company quality procedures and safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of experience inspecting solder joints and conformal coating on PCB assemblies.
- Hands-on experience with IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 standards is required.
- Ability to identify acceptable and defective solder joints using IPC standards.
- Experience inspecting both surface mount (SMT) and through-hole components.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, diagrams, work instructions, and parts lists.
- Ability to stand for long periods during the shift.
- Good vision and attention to detail for close visual inspections.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while following all safety procedures.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-J-STD-001 certification.
- Experience working in electronics, aerospace, or defense manufacturing.
- Knowledge of revision control and quality documentation.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
