Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients in advance and suggesting improvements
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, stoves, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools to ensure compliance with safety standards in production
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and adhering to food safety regulations
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining consistency and presentation quality
- Follow recipe adherence meticulously to ensure flavor consistency across all dishes
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred
- Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with specialized meal preparation
- Strong knowledge of food industry standards related to safety, sanitation, and food handling practices
- Proven skills in culinary techniques such as slicing, knife skills, and portion control
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations is advantageous
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with kitchen staff and serving teams
- Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
