TMC Transportation has an immediate Part-time opening for a Cook working out of our office in Des Moines, Iowa.
Monday-Friday: 4pm to 8pm
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The primary function of a cook is to prepare food for employees at TMC Transportation’s cafeterias and assist in all aspects a food service operation
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare food items by adhering to all recipe standards
- Maintain a safe working environment by using proper food handling and food safety guidelines. This includes maintaining compliance with City, County, State, and Federal food safety regulations and codes
- Provide excellent customer service
- Perform daily tasks such as: line set up, food prep, cooking, clean-up, and cash handling
- Supervise food service workers in the absence of the Food Service Supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Prior experience in a food service operation, possess knowledge on the proper use of food service equipment
- Ability to multi-task and possess strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Be knowledgeable on food and safety regulations, be able to follow instructions
- Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations, handle cash transactions accurately
- Must be able to lift 20lbs and stand for long periods of time
- Able to communicate efficiently and effectively with customers, employees, supervisors, guests, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
