Job Description – Banquet Bartender
Summary:
The Banquet Bartender’s general responsibilities are to prepare a variety of mixed drinks, dispense beer & wine, and serve food to guests. This is a part time position.

Qualifications:
MUST BE 21 OR OLDER
MUST HAVE NIGHT/WEEKEND AVAILABILITY - AS NEEDED
Those applying for the Bartender position should possess great interpersonal and communication skills, be an active listener, and also a team player. Previous experience in drink preparation and service preferred, but not necessary. Certification in the TIPS/BASSETT Alcohol Training program.
Immediate Supervisor:
The Banquet Bartender reports to the Food and Beverage Manager as well as the Banquet Coordinator.
Essential Functions
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Greet customers and present menus
- Prepare alcohol and non-alcohol beverages and serve to customers
- Make suggestions based on menu knowledge & customer preferences
- Develop awareness of alcohol overconsumption
- Handle money transactions
- Interact positively with all staff, especially wait, bar & kitchen staff
Psychological Considerations:
The Banquet Bartender may feel stress from interactions with customers especially those who have consumed alcohol. They may also feel stress from being held responsible for the successful operation of the bar area.
Environmental Considerations:
May be exposed to the elements when driving to and from events and facilities. Most activities are performed indoors; these conditions include lighting and temperature. May be exposed to heat or cold for some outdoor events.
Physiological Considerations:
May be required to stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift light to medium weight objects.
Cognitive Considerations:
The Bartender must exhibit good problem-solving ability, good judgment and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. They must maintain a professional appearance at all times. Must have the ability to calculate figures and interact well with people.
