Duties
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure consistency and quality.
- Lead and motivate kitchen staff by providing clear direction, training, and support to foster teamwork and high performance.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies, controlling costs, and minimizing waste through effective inventory control practices.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety sanitizing procedures, health regulations, and sanitation standards to guarantee a safe dining environment.
- Coordinate menu planning and food production for various service periods, including fine dining events and catering functions.
- Manage shift schedules, assign tasks efficiently, and monitor staff performance to maintain smooth workflow during busy hours.
- Maintain accurate records of food handling, storage conditions, and sanitation checks; conduct regular inspections for quality assurance.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or culinary environment; banquet or catering experience is highly desirable.
- Strong background in food production, culinary techniques, and kitchen management with a focus on fine dining standards.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling practices.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining a positive work environment.
- Experience in inventory management, cost control, menu planning, and food service management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train staff and coordinate with other departments such as dietary services or hospitality teams.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality management experience preferred; familiarity with catering operations is a plus.
