Rasmussen Excavation, alongside Rasmussen Rents, is a family-owned company. For over 50 years, the Excavation division has proudly completed various projects from small construction to large residential, commercial projects, including solar across New York State. With our home office located in Hamilton, NY, we also have four (4) Rental stores, three located in Central New York State and the Southern Tier, and one (1) location in Salisbury, NC.
Job Description
Rasmussen Rents is seeking to add someone to our Binghamton location in a general help and small equipment deliveries capacity. This person needs to be dependable, and a great team player. This position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth rental processes and timely deliveries and pick-ups, along with the behind the scenes work of yard organization, helping in the shop, and more.
The essential duties of this position are as follows:
- Help to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the equipment yard and shop.
- Pickup and deliver / Load and unload (with truck and trailer, no CDL required) small equipment rentals at customer homes and jobsites.
- Load and unload equipment with proper safety techniques and heavy lifting practices
- Assist in machinery upkeep – repairs, cleaning, painting, etc.
- Complete all tasks in a timely manner, with clear communication to rental store and customers.
- Adhere to company policies and standards.
- All other duties assigned.
Required Experience/Knowledge
- Experience driving (& reversing) a pickup with trailer in a safe manner
- Knowledge of safe load tie down techniques/requirements
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity.
- Attention to detail.
Preferred Experience/Knowledge
- CPR First Aid preferred, but not required
- OSHA 10 preferred, but not required.
General Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Authorized to work in the United States and able to provide proof. (We are unable to provide sponsorship of any kind at this time.)
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid NYS Driver's License – clean and safe driving record required - must be eligible to drive Company Vehicles safely.
- Must be a team player.
- Must be able to communicate with customers while representing Rasmussen Rents in a positive manner.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Willing to work outdoors, and occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
- Exposure to moderate to high noise levels.
- Ability to safely mount and dismount small and heavy equipment.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50-80 pounds.
- Physical demands of this position require standing, walking, twisting, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, reaching, climbing, crawling.
