Position Summary
SafetyNet is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our Compliance Department as an IFTA Data Analyst / Fuel Tax Compliance Coordinator.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving discrepancies, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, review, and reconcile fuel purchase records, mileage logs, trip reports, and ELD data.
- Prepare and submit quarterly IFTA fuel tax reports.
- Verify jurisdictional miles and fuel purchases to ensure compliance with IFTA and IRP requirements.
- Maintain accurate vehicle, fuel, mileage, and tax records.
- Research and resolve reporting discrepancies before filing deadlines.
- Coordinate with drivers, dispatch, accounting, and compliance departments to ensure data accuracy.
- Assist with IFTA audits by preparing supporting documentation.
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting IFTA, IRP, and related transportation compliance requirements.
- Prepare internal reports regarding fuel usage, mileage trends, and operational costs.
- Assist with licensing and permit renewals, including IRP, UCR, DOT, and related compliance programs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Transportation Management, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in trucking compliance, accounting, fuel tax reporting, or transportation operations preferred.
- Knowledge of IFTA and IRP regulations.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
- Experience with ELD systems and fuel reporting software is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
