Rock Solid Christian Academy is a Christ-centered, University-Model® school serving students in grades K–11 in Aurora, Colorado. Students attend classes on campus three days each week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) and complete guided assignments at home on Wednesdays and Fridays under the partnership of their parents.

We are seeking a 4th and 5th Grade Literacy and History Teacher who loves Jesus, enjoys working with upper elementary students, and is passionate about helping children become thoughtful readers, skilled communicators, and discerning learners.
Position Responsibilities
The teacher will provide engaging instruction in literacy and history while cultivating a classroom culture of curiosity, discussion, and biblical worldview formation. Responsibilities include:
- Teach literature, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and history to students in grades 4 and 5.
- Implement the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) curriculum to develop strong writing skills across multiple genres.
- Lead whole-class novel studies using thoughtful questioning and Socratic discussion to deepen comprehension, critical thinking, and biblical worldview analysis.
- Teach history through the Biblioplan curriculum, following the school's four-year historical rotation. The 2026–2027 school year focuses on Modern History (1850–Present).
- Design engaging lessons that integrate reading, writing, speaking, listening, and historical thinking.
- Provide timely, meaningful feedback that encourages student growth and ownership of learning.
- Collaborate closely with parents to support student success within the University-Model® framework.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of diverse learners.
- Maintain a classroom culture characterized by warmth, consistency, high expectations, and joyful learning.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and collaborative curriculum planning.
Qualifications
Required
- Evidence of a mature and growing Christian faith.
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least one year of successful classroom teaching experience.
- Excellent classroom management and instructional skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- A collaborative spirit, flexibility, initiative, and teachability.
- Passion for partnering with parents in the education of children.
Preferred
- Experience teaching upper elementary literacy and history.
- Familiarity with IEW (Institute for Excellence in Writing).
- Experience leading novel studies and discussion-based learning.
- Familiarity with Biblioplan or other classical/Christian history curricula.
- Colorado teaching license (preferred but not required).
A bachelor's degree is required. A Colorado state teaching certificate is preferred, but not required. If interested, please submit a resume, cover letter, and statement of faith.
