Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of technical skills, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical knowledge. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting across various building systems to maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. The Maintenance Engineer will also provide excellent customer service by addressing maintenance requests promptly and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all hotel facilities equipment, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and building interior components.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using schematics, hand tools, and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters.
- Conduct plumbing system maintenance and repairs, including pipe repairs, fixture replacements, and leak detection.
- Maintain HVAC systems through repairs, filter replacements, and system troubleshooting to ensure optimal operation.
- Execute carpentry tasks such as repairs to walls, doors, windows, and furniture; perform painting tasks for interior facilities maintenance.
- Operate welding equipment when necessary for structural repairs or fabrication projects.
- Use programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation troubleshooting and system adjustments.
- Maintain facilities equipment using maintenance, repair & operations (MRO) procedures; utilize schematics for complex repairs.
- Lead or assist with projects involving building interior maintenance or renovations as needed.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organized; adhere to safety protocols during all maintenance activities.
- Respond promptly to guest or staff maintenance requests with professionalism and excellent customer service skills.
Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance with skills in electrical work, plumbing, HVAC system repair, carpentry, welding, and mechanical knowledge.
- Familiarity with electrical equipment repair, building interior maintenance, plumbing systems, HVAC systems (including HVAC repair), residential painting, and facilities equipment maintenance.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals; experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools, electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters, and other maintenance tools.
- Strong knowledge of MRO procedures related to facility upkeep.
- Excellent communication skills in English; ability to collaborate with team members effectively.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to guide junior staff or lead small projects is a plus.
- Valid certifications or licenses related to electrical work or HVAC are desirable but not mandatory.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects, working at heights or confined spaces as required for building maintenance tasks.
