A well-established, resident-focused senior living community in New Castle County, Delaware is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to lead our clinical team. Position Summary
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and oversight of clinical services within the community. This individual will ensure the highest standards of resident care, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and staff development while working collaboratively with the Executive Director and department leaders.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for all clinical operations.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Oversee resident assessments, service plans, and clinical documentation.
- Manage medication management systems and clinical quality initiatives.
- Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and scheduling.
- Monitor infection prevention and control practices.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacies, therapists, hospice agencies, and other healthcare partners.
- Participate in resident admissions and care conferences.
- Respond to clinical concerns, emergencies, and family questions with professionalism and compassion.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and exceptional resident care.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Delaware (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience.
- Previous Director of Nursing, Health Services Director, or Resident Care Director experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Long-Term Care preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Delaware assisted living regulations.
- Experience with clinical assessments, care planning, medication management, and compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, physicians, and team members.
- Computer proficiency and experience with electronic health record systems.
