Job Summary
The Quality Control Lab Technician, following training, will play a crucial role in ensuring that products meet the required quality standards before they reach the Customer. This role is essential for maintaining high standards of product excellence, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and the overall success of the RQ Resins. This position involves conducting quality audits (in-process and final), inspections, and tests to verify compliance with specifications and regulations. The Technician will work closely with peer QC Lab Technicians and Production teams to identify areas for improvement and implement quality management systems that enhance product integrity and customer satisfaction. After appropriate training, the Lab Technician must demonstrate the ability to adjust products into specification. Technician will utilize standard operating procedures, benchmarks, and quality standards to compare testing outcomes. Candidate will be responsible for adhering to all safety protocols, following standardized operating procedures, training documents, and company policies. This job is for 3rd Shift and qualifies for a + 5% Shift Differential compensation.

Responsibilities - General:
- Learn and perform accurate and timely inspections and testing of samples of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
- Adjust products into specification after training.
- Learn to maintain quality control records, including data entry into notebooks, logs, SharePoint, and EPICOR software.
- Issue timely notifications of nonconforming results as appropriate
- Maintain retained samples and prevent detrimental exposures and contamination.
- Maintain traceability and retrievability of retained samples.
- Maintain lab instrumentation, equipment, and tools in safe and good working condition.
- Submit service, calibration or repair work orders as required.
Skills
- Aptitude to learn and apply scientific concepts and testing principles relating to chemistry.
- Basic understanding with quality management systems and their implementation in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed.
- Ability to analyze data accurately and make informed decisions based on findings.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring thoroughness in all aspects of testing and documentation.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with QC Lab team members and across departments.
Qualifications
- Experience in chemical manufacturing industry
- Associate degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- The integrity to report all test results accurately
- Proficient with MS Office
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels on a wide variety of topics, receiving general instructions from supervisor and/or engineers and discuss daily problems/concerns, testing and unique procedures or problems.
- Commitment to safety, participation, and adherence to company policies
- Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment when making decisions.
- Ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals
