Job Summary
Advanced Imaging and Lab of Yuma is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist, CMNT (Certified Medical Nuclear Technologist), to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging PET scans (Positron Emission Tomography)
- Operate sophisticated medical imaging equipment, including PET scanners and other nuclear medicine devices, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
- Assist physicians with specialized procedures, maintaining strict aseptic technique to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety during invasive or sterile procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive physiological assessments to support diagnostic evaluation, integrating knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology for precise interpretation.
- Educate patients about procedures, ensuring they understand the process while providing compassionate support throughout their experience.
- Maintain detailed records of all procedures performed, adhering to safety protocols and regulatory standards for nuclear medicine practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize imaging protocols and improve diagnostic outcomes through continuous quality improvement.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating nuclear medicine PET scanners with a strong understanding of their technical aspects.
- In-depth knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to accurately interpret imaging results and support diagnostic evaluation.
- Experience performing specialized scans including PET scans for metabolic activity assessment
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique principles to maintain sterile environments during invasive procedures.
- Ability to explain complex procedures clearly to patients, demonstrating excellent communication skills and empathy.
- Familiarity with medical imaging safety standards and radiation protection protocols to safeguard patients and staff.
- Capable of working efficiently within a fast-paced healthcare setting while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
