About the Role
Millington & Co. is hiring a Tax Senior (CPA) to prepare and review complex tax returns, deliver tax planning support, and assist in mentoring staff in a growing public accounting firm.
This is a client-facing, advisory-focused role—not just tax preparation. You will handle a portfolio of clients and collaborate with managers and partners on complex tax planning and firm growth initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
- Review and manage complex tax returns:
- 1040 (high-income / multi-entity)
- 1065 (partnerships)
- 1120S / 1120 (corporations)
- 1041 (trusts & estates)
- Deliver proactive tax planning strategies for business owners and high-net-worth individuals
- Manage multiple engagements with responsibility for deadlines, budgets, and realization
- Serve as primary client contact and trusted advisor
- Identify tax savings opportunities and communicate actionable recommendations
- Review tax returns prepared by staff and seniors, provide guidance
- Improve internal workflows, processes, and efficiency
- Support business development through excellent client service and referrals
Required Qualifications
- Active CPA license
- 5+ years public accounting tax experience
- 2+ years experience reviewing tax returns and managing engagements
- Strong technical expertise in:
- Partnership taxation (Form 1065)
- S-Corporations (Form 1120S)
- Individual taxation (Form 1040)
- Experience working directly with clients
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with trusts & estates (Form 1041)
- Experience advising closely held businesses
- Familiarity with Thomson Reuters UltraTax, QuickBooks, or similar platforms
- Experience mentoring staff accountants
Background in tax planning and advisory (not just compliance)
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
· Minimum 3 years public accounting experience preferred
Salary: $80k+ DOE with lucrative bonus structure
