We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Licensed Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient-centered care, with expertise across various settings including inpatient, outpatient, home health, schools, and skilled nursing facilities. The Licensed Occupational Therapist will play a vital role in assessing patient needs, developing personalized care plans, and supporting individuals of all ages in achieving their maximum functional independence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical and cognitive abilities to determine appropriate occupational therapy interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on enhancing activities of daily living (ADLs), motor skills, and functional independence.
- Assist patients with ADLs such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote autonomy and quality of life.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning and ensure seamless transitions across care settings.
Experience
- Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Texas is required. Masters degree or greater in Occupational therapy.
- Prior experience in acute care settings such as hospitals or intensive care units (ICU) is highly desirable. In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
- Skilled nursing facility experience or post-acute care background is preferred.
- Familiarity with outpatient clinics, home health services, and clinic-based therapy is advantageous.
- Knowledge of speech therapy principles can be beneficial but is not mandatory; collaboration with speech-language pathologists is common in comprehensive patient care.
- Strong case management skills combined with the ability to develop effective care plans tailored to individual goals are essential for success in this role.
