We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Care Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. Responsibilities
- Maintains State Requirements- 45 hour DCF Training (must have completed 5 hour Literacy Training)
- Assist lead teachers in implementing engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy, math, and early childhood education principles.
- Support children’s social-emotional development through mentoring, behavior management, and positive reinforcement strategies.
- Help create an inclusive classroom environment that accommodates children with disabilities or autism, ensuring all students receive personalized attention.
- Supervise children during activities, playtime, meals, and rest periods to ensure safety and well-being at all times.
- Maintain clear communication with children, parents, and team members to foster a collaborative learning atmosphere.
- Support classroom management by organizing materials, proofreading educational resources, and ensuring cleanliness and orderliness.
- Contribute to ongoing assessments of children’s progress and assist in documenting developmental milestones.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Required DCF 45 hour training transcript
- First Aid & CPR
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and early childhood education practices such as Montessori or other pedagogies is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is a plus.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior positively and effectively while maintaining a nurturing environment.
- Demonstrated skills in tutoring, mentoring, or supporting literacy and math education for young learners.
- Relevant certifications in childcare, special education, or behavior management are advantageous but not mandatory; ongoing training opportunities are available. Join us to inspire young minds! Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
