Overview
Join our dynamic finance team as an Automotive Controller, where you will lead the financial management and accounting operations for our automotive division. This pivotal role combines strategic oversight with hands-on accounting expertise to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient cash management. As a key contributor, you will drive financial integrity, streamline processes, and support operational excellence in a fast-paced environment dedicated to innovation and growth.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of financial accounting for the automotive division, including general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliation, and accounts receivable/payable processing.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements specific to the automotive industry and non-profit sectors if applicable.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial report writing, variance analysis, and audit preparation.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury management activities, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity and cash utilization.
- Supervise and mentor accounting teams responsible for cost accounting analysis, payroll processing, and technical accounting functions.
- Implement and maintain accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or other financial software to enhance data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliation, account analysis, and balance sheet review to uphold financial integrity across all accounts.
- Support budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives to align with organizational goals.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, governmental accounting standards, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Proven experience managing accounting teams within a corporate or non-profit environment with strong leadership skills.
- Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Excel (including data analysis and spreadsheet management), and other relevant systems.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and account reconciliation.
- Expertise in cash management strategies, accounts payable/receivable processes, cost accounting analysis, and financial close procedures.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data using Excel data analysis techniques for forecasting and decision-making support.
- Excellent written communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and documentation aligned with regulatory standards.
