1. "Walk to Read" Literacy Aide
Role Overview
The "Walk to Read" Literacy Aide supports structured, school-wide reading interventions for students in grades K–6. This role is crucial in helping students build foundational literacy skills and achieve reading confidence.
Key Responsibilities & Ideal Qualifications

Instructional Support: Deliver structured literacy interventions to individual students or small groups.

Collaboration: Partner with classroom teachers and specialists to track student progress and implement reading strategies.

Qualifications:

Prior experience working with children.

Knowledge of the Science of Reading principles is highly preferred.

Strong collaborative spirit and interpersonal skills.
2. Wellness Room Assistant
Role Overview
The Wellness Room Assistant supervises our school Wellness Room—a preventative, non-punitive space designed to help students "Come to Calm, Return to Learn." This role helps students develop the self-regulation, emotional awareness, and coping skills necessary to successfully return to their classrooms and engage in learning.
Key Responsibilities

Student Support: Teach, model, and reinforce positive self-regulation and coping strategies with students experiencing emotional or behavioral dysregulation.

Room Supervision: Manage and monitor the daily use of the Wellness Room, ensuring it remains a safe, welcoming, and predictable environment.

School Climate: Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administration to support a positive, inclusive school culture.

Data & Tracking: Monitor student usage of the space to help identify trends and support ongoing student success plans.
3. 1st Grade Assistant
Role Overview The 1st Grade Assistant works closely with the lead teacher to cultivate a nurturing, organized, and engaging environment where early elementary students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities

Instructional Reinforcement: Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce core concepts in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Classroom Management: Assist the lead teacher in managing transitions, preparing instructional materials, and maintaining a positive, focused classroom community.
Applicant must be highly qualified. This would include one of the following:
- Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college/university; or
- 48 semester hours from an accredited college/university; or
- Pass the ParaPro Assessment

Lane 1 Step 1 ($17.88/Hour) Not Highly Qualified
Lane 2 Step 1 ($18.88/Hour) Associate's degree or 48 semester hours from an accredited college/university; or
Lane 3 Step 1 ($19.94/Hour) Current/Former Licensed Teacher
