Job Summary
We are seasonal private yacht club situated on Harsens Island, Michigan seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team for the 2026 season and beyond! Housing and meals provided with use of the club amenities during non business hours! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service, particularly within fine dining environments. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality dishes, ensuring food safety standards are met, and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Assist in menu planning and development, offering creative input for seasonal dishes.
- Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed to maintain food safety.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering when necessary.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Skills
- Proven experience as a cook in the food industry, preferably in a restaurant or dietary department setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Proficiency in knife skills and various cooking techniques.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
- Creativity in menu planning and presentation of dishes.
