Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping to meet each pet’s specific needs and owner preferences
- Handle animals safely and compassionately, utilizing proper restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Assess pet health and behavior to identify any signs of illness or discomfort, and communicate findings to pet owners or veterinary staff as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming station by sanitizing tools and work areas regularly
- Provide excellent customer service by advising pet owners on grooming routines, aftercare, and product recommendations
- Assist with pet handling during appointments, ensuring a calm environment for anxious or energetic animals
- Support other team members with animal handling, kennel duties, or pet sitting tasks when necessary
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of breed standards and grooming techniques
- Knowledge of animal handling, restraint methods, and pet care best practices
- Experience working with dogs of various sizes and temperaments; additional experience with veterinary procedures is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects (pets or equipment) safely and comfortably as required for grooming tasks
- Familiarity with veterinary technician or assistant roles, including animal health assessment and basic medical knowledge is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Previous kennel experience or heavy lifting experience is beneficial but not mandatory
- Passionate about animal welfare with a positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset

Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
