Suzie Q's Home Care, LLC is seeking a compassionate and reliable Spanish-speaking caregiver to provide in-home support for an individual requiring full physical assistance.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, or age-related needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to promoting independence, dignity, and well-being for those served. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting daily activities, implementing care plans, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare teams promptly.
- Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plans, ensuring accuracy and safety at all times.
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and preferences, maintaining cleanliness in kitchen areas.
- Support residents during community outings or social activities to promote engagement and socialization.
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, including dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, autism support, or hospice care.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, performing regular cleaning duties, and managing heavy lifting or assistive devices as required.
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring.
- Experience with medication administration and understanding of care plans is essential.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders such as autism or dementia is preferred.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in HIPAA compliance and hospice or memory care is advantageous.
- Proven ability to handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
