American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical Oncology unit in Plano, TX, requiring at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience and an active TX or compact RN license.

30-bed Medical Oncology unit located on the C2 floor of the C Tower
-
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1 maximum
-
Night shift staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse, 5–6 RNs, and 2–3 PCTs
-
Common procedures include GI and Gynecologic Oncology procedures
-
EMR: Meditech
-
No on-call or floating requirements
-
13-week contract
-
Active TX RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)

Oncology Nurse Certification (ONC) required for all RNs working in Oncology

Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience required

Oncology experience preferred

US SSN and DOB required for consideration
-
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

All staff are expected to arrive by 6:45 PM/AM and attend the unit huddle at 6:53 PM/AM

Unit has been awarded Unit of Distinction 3 years in a row

Staff and management are known for being highly collaborative and supportive

One professional reference is required; candidates in Florida or Missouri must provide two references
