Director of Nursing – Home Helpers of Bergen County
Home Helpers of Bergen County is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and oversee our care team. As a key member of our leadership staff, the DON will ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and client-centered home care services. Position Details:
- Location: Bergen County, NJ (In-office and field-based)
- Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical oversight for all client care, ensuring compliance with state regulations and agency policies
- Conduct initial assessments, develop care plans, and perform supervisory visits
- Lead the training, evaluation, and supervision of CHHAs and caregivers
- Oversee CHHA skills assessments and competency testing
- Collaborate with office staff to ensure smooth coordination of care
- Serve as a clinical resource for families, staff, and field personnel
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in accordance with NJ Board of Nursing requirements
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in home care or a community health setting
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role (preferred)
- Strong understanding of New Jersey home care regulations
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Must be comfortable conducting field visits and working in both clinical and administrative settings
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
