Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals
- Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of resident living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
- Document patient observations, care activities, and progress accurately in compliance with privacy standards like HIPAA
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, hospice, or autism care enhances your ability to provide specialized support
- Hands-on experience with patient monitoring and care planning is preferred
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring long-term support is a plus
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance demonstrate your readiness for this role
- Experience using assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or performing heavy lifting safely is advantageous
- A background in social work or nursing provides a strong foundation for understanding comprehensive patient needs
