About Evercare Therapeutic Services
Evercare Therapeutic Services is a growing behavioral health organization dedicated to providing high-quality mental health, counseling, case management, skills training, and supportive services to children, adolescents, and adults throughout Texas. We are currently seeking compassionate, motivated, and dependable Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) to join our team.
This position offers a unique opportunity to provide both counseling services and Intensive Peer Support Services (IPPS) to foster youth and other behavioral health clients.
Position Summary
The QMHP will provide direct mental health services, counseling, peer support, life-skills training, mentoring, case coordination, and community-based support services to clients. Services may be delivered in person, virtually, and within community settings.
The ideal candidate is passionate about helping youth and families overcome barriers, develop life skills, improve mental wellness, and achieve long-term success.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCounseling & Behavioral Health Services
- Provide individual counseling and supportive services to children, adolescents, and adults.
- Assist clients with developing coping skills, emotional regulation, and goal attainment.
- Complete progress notes, treatment documentation, and service records in accordance with agency standards.
- Collaborate with therapists, LPCs, case managers, schools, and community partners.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and case reviews.
Intensive Peer Support Services (IPPS)
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and peer support services to foster youth and at-risk youth.
- Develop trusting relationships through consistent in-person engagement.
- Assist youth with:
- Goal setting
- Independent living skills
- Workforce development
- Educational planning
- Community integration
- Transition to adulthood
- Collaborate with youth to develop and maintain Personalized Development Plans (PDPs).
- Conduct monthly progress reviews and update service goals.
- Coordinate resources and referrals to community services.
- Provide transportation to approved service locations when required.
- Attend court hearings and provide testimony when requested.
- Maintain communication with DFPS staff, caseworkers, and service providers.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet one or more of the following:
- Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) credential or eligibility.
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Social Work
- Counseling
- Psychology
- Child & Youth Development
- Criminal Justice
- Human Services
- Or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience working with at-risk youth, foster youth, behavioral health clients, or individuals who have experienced trauma.
- Experience providing community-based services preferred.
- Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to maintain required auto insurance coverage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in community settings.
- Ability to pass required background checks and credentialing requirements.

- Foster care system experience.
- Trauma-informed care experience.
- Crisis intervention experience.
- Youth mentoring experience.
- Behavioral health counseling experience.
- Knowledge of DFPS programs and requirements.
Work Schedule
This position requires flexibility and may include:
- Daytime hours
- Evenings
- Weekends
- Holidays (as needed)
Services are provided based on client needs and scheduling requirements.

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Houston, TX 77036
