Job description:
North West Labs/RSL Medical Marketing is seeking a dependable phlebotomist/specimen collector who demonstrates a strong work ethic and proactive approach to their responsibilities. This individual will be responsible for leading a medication monitoring program (UDS) in a doctor's office, as well as drawing blood from a number of patients in the clinic.
The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday with varying hours according to clinic assignment; typically falling within regular business hours (8/9am-5/6pm).
This position is for a FLOAT. Location will vary from day to day, or week to week. No night shift or weekends. The ideal candidate will possess a positive and open-minded approach to learning, along with the ability to effectively interact with diverse demographics.Hiring multiple candidates, interviews to be held in Farmington Hills, MIResponsibilities (include but not limited to)
- Identify patients requiring testing and those prescribed controlled medications
- Collect blood, urine, or oral specimens on-site following established office protocols
- Prepare and package specimens for laboratory testing with complete and legible paperwork
- Maintain accurate documentation of collected specimens using EHR or tracking logs
- Maintain organization of consent forms and lab orders
- Upload lab results from the portal into the EHR system
- Oversee and replenish inventory supplied by North West, including reordering items such as needles, sharps containers, and gloves for office and lab use
- Foster positive relationships with clinic staff and patients
- Communicate professionally and promptly with clinic staff and patients
Qualifications

- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
- Punctual and reliable, consistently fulfilling work commitments.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation (proof can be provided).
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check with no felony convictions
- At least 1 year phlebotomy experience in clinic, lab, or hospital setting
- Willingness and ability to travel to locations within Wayne, Macomb, Washtenaw, and Oakland Counties
