Accounts Receivable Specialist

In this role, you will oversee billing, accounts receivable, cash management, and reconciliations while working closely with members of the Business Office, program leadership, and outside funding agencies. Location: Yarmouth Port, MA
Compensation: $24.00–$26.00 per hour based on experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly billing, accounts receivable, and cash activity for the agency
- Prepare and maintain billing, invoicing, and attendance-based reimbursement records
- Submit invoices through agency forms, state systems, online portals, and grant billing processes
- Reconcile accounts receivable, cash receipts, deposits, and operating bank accounts
- Monitor cash flow, bank balances, transfers, and collection activity; follow up on outstanding receivables
- Prepare journal entries and support month-end financial reporting
- Manage Social Security representative payee funds, resident benefit account transfers, food stamp income, and student account reconciliations
- Assist with contract billing, funding issues, client funding verification, and annual audit preparation
- Provide backup support for payroll, accounts payable, donation reconciliation, and other Business Office functions
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with accounting software; Dynamics experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with staff and funding agencies
Preferred:
- 1 year of billing and accounts receivable experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or 4 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field
