Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure that equipment and facilities remain operational, safe, and efficient. This entry-level role supports the maintenance team by assisting with repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting under the supervision of senior technicians or the Maintenance Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities

Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks on equipment, machinery, and building systems as instructed.

Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and report findings to senior team members as instructed.

Assist with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing minor repairs.

Replace or repair basic components such as belts, filters, faucets, door handles, etc

Maintain and organize tools, parts, and maintenance equipment in designated areas.

Document completed work, including parts used and time spent, in the maintenance log or system.

Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a clean and hazard-free work environment.

Support preventive maintenance programs by following schedules and completing assigned tasks.

Communicate timely and accurately with team members and supervisors about ongoing tasks and issues.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or management.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required.

Previous experience in maintenance, repair, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Skills and Competencies:

Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.

Familiarity with basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals and schematics.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Willingness to learn and follow instructions from senior technicians.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly.

Capability to work in various environments, including outdoor, noisy, or confined spaces.

Frequent standing, bending, and reaching throughout the workday.
Preferred Qualifications

Basic certification in maintenance-related skills (e.g., HVAC, welding, or electrical work).
