Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Summer Site Lead for our Literacy and STEM to support a team of tutors to help students in developing strong reading, writing and math skills. This role involves working with leading a team of (4-6) tutors who will support children of various ages, providing engaging instruction, and fostering a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in literacy education, classroom management, and working with diverse student populations, including elementary and middle school students. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic success while utilizing your expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and learning technology.
Key Responsibilities
Program Supervision
- Oversee day-to-day academic programming at satellite location, ensuring fidelity to curriculum and program design.
- Provide on-site leadership during program hours, addressing student needs, staff concerns, and program flow.
- Support alignment of schedules, routines, and daily program implementation
Staff Support & Coaching
- Supervise and provide daily support to 3-8 Achievement Tutors
- Provide real-time feedback, modeling, and guidance to strengthen instruction and student engagement.
- Communicate with the Managing Director of Operations and Strategy regarding staff performance and training needs.
Student Engagement & Support
- Cultivate a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for all students.
- Monitor attendance, participation, and student progress for the program
- Support student behavior management using restorative practices.
Data & Compliance
- Ensure weekly attendance and program records are accurate and submitted on time.
- Oversee the implementation of student assessments and lessons (IXL, iReady, Hello Insight, etc.).
- Uphold policies, safety protocols, and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Experience working with children across various age groups, including preschool or early childhood education settings
- Strong background in literacy and STEM education, lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management
- Proficiency with online learning technology tools used for educational purposes
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to adapt instruction for different learning styles
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience is highly desirable
- Experience working with students with special needs or in inclusive classrooms is a plus
- Passion for helping children succeed academically and fostering a love for reading and math
- Background check clearance required
Commitment
- Schedule: Approximately 10-12 hours per week;
- Summer (July 7 – August 31): Monday and Wednesday, Schedule & Compensation
- School year (August - June) Monday - Thursday 3:00 pm-6:00 pm
- Compensation: $32-$45, commensurate with experience.

Pay: $32.00 - $45.00 per hour
