Assistant Attorney General, Arts & Education Division
The Office of the West Virginia Attorney General is seeking a full-time attorney to join its Arts & Education Division to represent various state agencies as required. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of five (5) years of litigation experience. This position is responsible for litigation primarily in administrative forums and state circuit courts, as well as appellate work before the West Virginia Intermediate Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia. Responsibilities include both litigation representation and providing general counsel and advice to multiple client agencies as assigned.
Strong written and oral advocacy skills are required. The candidate must be comfortable practicing independently with limited clerical support. Knowledge or experience representing government agencies is preferred but not required.
Candidates must have an active West Virginia law license.
