Location: Midland, PA
You’ll keep steel moving safely and efficiently through the galvanizing line. From staging and wiring parts to racks, to guiding loads with an overhead bridge crane, you’ll prepare pieces for coating, check fixtures like chains and hooks, and finish products by paddling and blowing off excess zinc. You’ll navigate the yard and plant to relocate materials, use powered tools, and help keep the workspace spotless and organized—all while following strict safety practices, including an OSHA respirator fit test (clean-shaven if required for a proper seal).
- First shift: $17/hour, Monday–Friday, 6:15 am – 2:45 pm (Saturday work as needed)
- Second shift: $18/hour, Monday–Friday, 2:15 pm – 11:15 pm (Saturday work as needed)
- Sort and stage steel to ensure it’s suitable for galvanizing; flag any unsafe or nonconforming items.
- Operate the overhead bridge crane with precision and care to move material throughout the process.
- Enhance coating quality by paddling and air-blowing zinc for a clean finish.
- Inspect and maintain fixtures (chains, hooks) and report issues immediately.
- Identify materials that are rusted, bent, damaged, missing welds, or improperly vented.
- Wear required PPE and contribute to a safe, productive work area.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions and perform basic math.
- Comfort using production hand tools and gauges; confident reading a tape measure.
- Consistent safety mindset and integrity-driven work ethic.
- Strength to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1+ year in a manufacturing setting; 1+ year in galvanizing or coatings preferred.
- Strong teamwork and communication; detail focus and adherence to work instructions.
- Awareness of hazardous substances and basic chemical safety responsibilities.
